Complementary Criteria for Civil Engineering Programmes

These complementary programme criteria apply to civil engineering programmes established in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education to award a bachelor's degree in engineering.
1. Curriculum
a) Upon graduation, students can apply the basic principles and methods of engineering mechanics, structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, engineering materials, engineering survey, engineering drawing, engineering economy and so on.
b) Students should be able to understand the core concepts and professional technologies of the design, construction, operation and maintenance, and management of civil engineering facilities or systems.
c) Students should be able to identify, express, analyze and solve complex civil engineering problems by comprehensively using wide-ranging professional knowledge and skills.
2. Faculty
a) Faculty engaged in professional courses teaching (including practical courses) should have at least one stage of their learning experience with a degree in civil engineering-related majors.
b) Faculty engaged in the teaching of professional main/core courses (including practical courses) should have related engineering practice experience.
c) Faculty engaged in the teaching of professional courses should have a clear and stable research direction.
d) Faculty should guide no more than 8 students who undertake the final year project every year.
3. Supporting resources
Current engineering construction laws and regulations, national standards, industry standards and engineering atlas that meet the teaching needs, professional software necessary for course teaching and graduation design, and relatively stable off campus professional practice bases, should be available.
